Business After Hours

The Business After Hours events are held once a month in association with member businesses. The event provides members the opportunity to network with other business people while providing a forum for the host to showcase their own business, products and related services. The calendar to host a Business After Hours event begins filling up as early as January of each year, so call the Chamber today to sign up.

Special Events

Each year, the RVCC sponsors the Ruidoso Art Festival. Organized in 1971 and held the last full weekend in July, the Festival is consistently named one of the top juried fine art shows in the nation. The Festival is the Chamber’s largest fund raising event each year.

The Chamber also sponsors the Annual AspenFest Parade which is held the first full weekend in October every year.

Recent Accomplishments of the
Ruidoso Valley Chamber of Commerce:

• 1997 NM Chamber of the Year Award Winner
  

• Completely rebuilt and enlarged the former chamber building through member support, final payment in May 2000
  

• Developed a Leadership Program, Leadership Lincoln, that experienced tremendous success in first 3 years
  

• Implemented Water Conservation Program for Lodging and Restaurant industries with Village of Ruidoso
  

• Continue to improve member communication and member services through electronic and printed media
  

• Coordinated and implemented a number of small business seminars through ENMU Ruidoso such as computers, Spanish and Customer Service
  

• Led the community-wide supportive effort for ENMU Ruidoso to be a branch community college
  

• Created a “shop locally” program that has infused more than $5000 of spending at chamber member businesses
  

• Hosted a FAM tour for the NM Dept. of Tourism to educate them on everything Ruidoso has to offer, visited the Dept. in Santa Fe and had Cabinet Secretary Mike Cerletti speak at 2005 Chamber Banquet
  

• Created a chamber owned and managed website for the benefit of chamber members
  

• Supported efforts such as the VOR 40 year water plan, Ruidoso Downs Race Track and Casino's bid for a race track/casino in Hobbs and the River Crossing at Ruidoso project.
  

• Supported affordable housing efforts and currently have two board members on the village appointed task force.
  

• Created much more active and effective committees with more accountability to the board and membership.
  

• Conducted the Lincoln County Business Survey in 2000
