4th—31st Annual Smokey Bear Fun Run  Capitan, NM.
7:30 am. The intersection of East Creek Road and Pine Lodge Road. Fourth of July Fireworks Extravaganza Inn of the Mountain Gods.
The festivities begin at 5 pm and guests can snack on hamburgers, hot dogs, nachos and cold beverages on the patio while enjoying great live entertainment and other fun activities. The celebration continues into the night and concludes with southern New Mexico's largest firework display over Lake Mescalero. The parade is 10 am on the Sat. the 3rd. The fireworks are on the 4th after the rodeo.
