Time and time again we hear this from our visitors...."I've been coming here since I was a kid".  We're delighted that young families return to share the magical memories and experiences found in Ruidoso with their kids.  Ruidoso is a family friendly place where you can take the time to get to know your kids!

Adventure Tour Information

While there is much to do in Lincoln County and our surrounding area, you may want to maximize your vacation time with a tour guide. Lincoln County Tour Company offers these guided tours:

Lincoln County Tour Company has an activity tour designed for children ages 6-14 that includes a visit to the Space History Museum, the IMAX theater and the Alamogordo Zoo. These tours are available during the summer months.  They also offer event planning for corporate groups, family reunions and retreats. Funtrackers: 700 block of Sudderth Dr. next to Pizza Hut. Go-carts, water bumper-boats, arcade & miniature golf. 575-257-3275

Grindstone Lake: Open year round for Fishing and Boating. Non Motorized boats ONLY, are allowed from April 1 – October 31 with a boat permit. Maximum length of boat is 16 ft. HOURS FOR FISHING: From Boats: Sunrise to Sunset. From Shore: Sunrise – 10:00pm. Boat permits may be purchased at the Parks & Recreation Office at 801 Resort Dr., Monday- Friday (8am –5pm). Permits are $35/season, $10/3 consecutive days or $5.00 for one day. For weekend purchases please call 257-5030 to make arrangements to purchase your permit. Permits are also for sale at the Public Swimming Pool (at Schoolhouse Park) during the summer. A New Mexico Fishing License is required to fish at Grindstone Lake, as well as, all NM fishing and boating regulations are to be followed.

Kids Corral: Pony rides for young children. Located on Sudderth, across from Funtrackers and Pizza Hut. 575-257-7836

Kids Konnection: Playground - located behind schools on White Mountain Dr.

Lincoln County Overland Stage Company: Offering morning and afternoon rides. Bring the whole family and enjoy an authentic stagecoach ride over historic trails! Call 575-653-4954 or www.stagecoach.bz/ for reservations.

North Park: Off White Mountain Dr. Ruidoso's only skateboard park. Hours: Sunday - Thursday 8:00AM – 9:30PM, Friday & Saturday 8:00AM – 11:30PM, The Park will be closed during inclement weather. Call 575-257-5030 for information.

Ruidoso Public Swimming Pool: Located at 500 block of Sudderth Dr. the hours are 11:45am-4:45pm, 7 days a week, Memorial Weekend (TBD) through the first part of August. Daily passes are $2.50 or $6.25 for full access (water slide). For swimming lesson schedule, pool rental for parties or more information call Parks & Rec at 257-5030 or 257-2795 (pool).

Seeping Springs Trout Lakes: Hwy 70, 4 miles east of the racetrack. Paddleboats and trout fishing. Info: 575-378-4216.

Ski Apache: 12 miles up Ski Run Road, off Hwy. 48. 575-336-4356 or www.skiapache.com. 24-hr. snow report: 575-257-9001.

Public Tennis courts: 107 Sierra Blanca Dr. next to the Soccer Fields and the Convention Center, and 500 block of Sudderth next to the new Fire Station. 575-257-5030

Two Rivers Park: Playground and picnic area next to the river, located on Sudderth Dr. next to the Visitor's Center, across from Pizza Hut.

Winter Park: Tubing & Sledding area at the base of Ski Run Road. Giant tubes, a KIDZ KORRAL & snack bar. 575-336-7079
