 This logo was created by Phillip Barnett which is a composite of three elements:
The trees and river represent the Lincoln National Forest.
The Eagle feather represents the Mescalero Apache Nation.
The bridge represents the unity between the two communities.

Leadership Lincoln is one of more than 2,000 nationwide programs designed to promote the development of emerging leaders.
The goal of Leadership Lincoln is to identify and motivate these emerging leaders, develop their potential for community leadership, and expose them to the realities, challenges, and opportunities in our area.

Each yearly class of Leadership Lincoln meets
for eight all-day sessions, September through May, as well as traveling to Santa Fe for two days to study state government. The Leadership Lincoln program covers multiple leadership topics including:

- The characteristics of leadership and methods to identify leaders within the region.

- How a strong vision for Lincoln and Northern Otero Counties can be created.
- Methods of identifying and soliciting resources for assistance.
- Methods of dealing with public opinion and the media.
